Dental Assisting Schools
The following is a list of schools in Canada. Graduates of these programs are eligible to write the NDAEB examination.
When considering enrollment in a intra-oral (Level II) dental assisting educational program not listed on this site, you are advised to contact the NDAEB regarding exam eligibility should you intend to write the NDAEB examination upon graduation.
The National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) fully supports and encourages the accreditation of dental assisting educational programs in Canada. For information on program accreditation, please refer to the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada website at www.cda-adc.ca.
The entry requirements to Canadian dental assisting educational programs are set by the educational institution and not the NDAEB. Please contact the school directly for specific entry requirements. NDAEB recommend attending a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada for labor mobility purposes.Education completed at non-accredited programs will not meet the licensure/certification requirements for most Canadian provinces; therefore, candidates should investigate the accreditation status of any dental assisting program they may choose to attend in lieu of the Clinical Practice Evaluation. For a list of dental assisting education programs and their accreditation status, visit the NDAEB website (http://www.ndaeb.ca). The NDAEB assumes no responsibility for candidates choosing to attend non-accredited dental assisting education programs which may not be acceptable to the provincial Dental Assisting Regulatory Authority (DARA) for licensure/registration purposes.
If you have questions regarding licensure/registration in your province, contact the DARA before enrolling in voluntary education upgrading in lieu of CPE.
