Thanks to the leadership of our Board, the NDAEB team has collaborated with the Indspire team to be the first national dental organization to establish a scholarship to support Indigenous dental assisting students.

This award will be distributed to Indigenous students who are attending any post-secondary dental assisting program across Canada that is NDAEB exam eligible. Although demonstrated financial need will be the primary consideration, other factors may also be considered (such as involvement in and contribution to the community as a whole and academic merit and performance).

The NDAEB is contributing $5000 per year for 5 years as part of its 25th anniversary activities, and this will be matched by a donation from the Government of Canada. Scholarship recipients who successfully complete their dental assisting program will also be eligible to register as a first-time writer to the NDAEB examination, at no charge.

This initiative represents and embraces our strategic vision of “Growing Stronger Together”. With this first step, we hope to continue inspiring each other to engage and advance our efforts in equity, diversity, and inclusion, within the context of demonstrating the value of the NDAEB certificate for dental assistants.

Application deadlines are February 1, August 1, and November 1 each year.
