Testing Facilities used by the NDAEB to deliver examinations increasingly have vaccine requirements that will apply to candidates registered at those facilities. These requirements may be established by the facility itself, or by local, regional, or provincial governments or health authorities. Therefore, we strongly recommend that all candidates be fully vaccinated if they want to guarantee their participation in NDAEB examinations. Candidates who are registered at an examination center where vaccination is required must be prepared to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 upon arrival at the testing center.
If you cannot be vaccinated for medical (or other government approved exemptions) please contact the NDAEB for directives. Please be prepared to submit with proof of medical exemption if required.
NDAEB believes that the health and safety of our candidates and staff across Canada comes first. Therefore, as a result of the move towards mandatory vaccinations in education systems recently confirmed throughout provinces, NDAEB will now require all candidates and staff participating in the upcoming November 2021 Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) to be fully vaccinated*.
As such, as of September 21, 2021, candidates planning to register for the November 2021 CPE must submit with their application proof of full vaccinations. * Vaccines must be approved for use in Canada.
Prior to the CPE
Registered candidates will continue to be required to submit the NDAEB Covid-19 Health Questionnaire (as per directives sent in the Admission Letter).

The National Dental Assisting Examining Board and the Canadian Dental Assistants Association, in partnership with the Canadian Dental Assisting Regulatory Authorities are pleased to announce the completion of the National Occupational Analysis (NOA) for the profession of Canadian Dental Assisting 2019/2020.
The NOA for dental assisting in Canada is completed approximately every five years and is used primarily to assist in the development and confirmation of the Occupational Standard and to update Domain Descriptions and inform NDAEB exam revisions.

It also represents an important resource for provincial regulators and can inform government regulation and policy development. The full report is available here.
